I admit I’ve only really listened to Chopin for background music. I should spend more time paying attention to it.
the poles, especially, really like him. on the PBS show they talked about lots of innovative ways that modern [polish] people are drawing upon Chopin’s music as inspiration, in jazz music, rock music, etc etc. note: I think Wilde was being extremely melodramatic with that quote, plus… he was probably thinking about his own tragedies.
This was an interesting program they had on PBS about Chopin.
