  1. Wow. The Wilde quote is impressive: “After playing Chopin, I feel as if I had been weeping over sins that I had never committed and mourning over tragedies that were not my own.”

    I admit I’ve only really listened to Chopin for background music. I should spend more time paying attention to it.

  2. the poles, especially, really like him. on the PBS show they talked about lots of innovative ways that modern [polish] people are drawing upon Chopin’s music as inspiration, in jazz music, rock music, etc etc. note: I think Wilde was being extremely melodramatic with that quote, plus… he was probably thinking about his own tragedies.
